Features & CapabilitiesCan different users use the same agents? How are access rights handled?
Can different users use the same agents? How are access rights handled?
Yes, our platform supports several users accessing the same agents β it's even something we recommend when re-engineering processes with the help of agents.
Access rights can be set per agent, starting from completely private agents to agents accessible to the entire team.
Features & CapabilitiesHow do I create an agent?
How do I create an agent?
An AI Agent can be used like a normal AI chat, but can also be given a standing job to do.
Key Interface Sections

π¬ Chat
Here you can chat with your agent, or discuss what its job should be.
π Instructions
These are standing instructions for your agent, describing how it should behave, how it should react to incoming events (such as emails), or if it should do recurring tasks. You can write the instructions yourself, or chat with the agent and then ask it to write the instructions.
π Docs
Here you can upload docs with additional context. The Agent will know about the existence of these documents and can read them when needed. You can also allow the agent to create its own documents.
β‘ Capabilities
Here you give the agent access to tools and integrations such as Slack, image generation, email send/receive, etc. Or just chat with the agent and it will suggest what it needs to do the job.
π Activities & Approvals
Here you can see a diary of what the agent has been up to. This is especially useful if the agent does stuff in the background.
βοΈ Settings
Here you can configure things like the agent's name and image, and advanced features like agent to agent communication.
π Prompt Examples
Invoice Router Agent
"I receive a lot of emails with invoices that need to be routed to the right team. How can you help me with this, and what would you need from me?"
Positive News Agent
"Check for positive feel-good news every day at 6pm and send me an email"
See Positive News Agent demo video
Company Research Agent
"Whenever I paste in a company name, I want you to do research on that company to find out if it fits our ideal customer profile. I'll upload a doc for you describing what we are looking for."
Next Steps

Features & CapabilitiesHow do I fix voice transcription when it keeps translating English to Swedish (or wrong language)?
How do I fix voice transcription when it keeps translating English to Swedish (or wrong language)?
If your voice transcription is incorrectly translating English to Swedish (or another wrong language), this is a known issue where the underlying AI model sometimes guesses the wrong language during auto-detection.
Solution
Explicitly set the transcription language in your user profile preferences instead of relying on auto-detection:
- Go to your user profile preferences
- Find the voice/transcription settings section
- Manually select "English" (or your preferred language) instead of "Auto-detect"
- Save the settings
Why this happens
The AI model used for transcription sometimes makes incorrect assumptions about the language being spoken, especially when:
- There are mixed language environments
- The speaker has an accent
- Background noise affects detection
- The auto-detection algorithm makes an incorrect initial guess
Alternative approaches
If the issue persists after setting the language manually:
- Speak more clearly and distinctly
- Reduce background noise during voice input
- Consider restarting your session and trying again
Still having issues?
If manually setting the language doesn't resolve the transcription problems, contact our support team at support@abundly.ai with details about:
- Which language you're speaking
- Which language it's being transcribed as
- Your current language settings
This helps us identify if there are additional technical issues affecting your transcription experience.
Features & CapabilitiesHow do I invite team members to work with my agents?
How do I invite team members to work with my agents?
You can invite team members to access your agents in two ways: at the team level or for individual agents.
Team-level access
- Log into your Abundly account
- Navigate to Members in the main menu
- Add new team members who can then access agents based on their permissions
Agent-specific access
For more granular control over individual agents:
- Select the specific agent you want to share
- Go to Settings for that agent
- Click on Team Access tab
- Choose the appropriate access level:
- Admin: Team members can do anything, including deleting the agent or changing access rules
- Edit: Team members can interact with and modify the agent (instructions, capabilities, docs, etc.)
- Use: Team members can interact with the agent but cannot make changes
- None: Team members cannot see the agent exists
Best practices
- Start with 'Use' access for most team members to prevent accidental changes
- Grant 'Edit' access only to team members who need to modify agent behavior
- Reserve 'Admin' access for project owners or IT administrators
- Review access permissions regularly as your team and projects evolve
Getting started with team collaboration
Team access is particularly useful when re-engineering processes with AI agents, as multiple stakeholders can collaborate on the same agent while maintaining appropriate access controls.
Features & CapabilitiesWhat is the recommended method for fine-tuning AI agent performance when getting inconsistent results?
What is the recommended method for fine-tuning AI agent performance when getting inconsistent results?
The recommended approach for fine-tuning AI agents is to:
- Chat directly with the agent and update instructions with more specific details
- Be very explicit about requirements (companies, time periods, etc.)
- Try this method for 1-2 attempts
- If you don't see improvement after 1-2 tries, contact Abundly support for additional assistance
This iterative approach of refining instructions through direct interaction is generally effective for improving agent performance.
Common issues and solutions
Date handling problems: If your agent includes wrong dates or information from outside specified time periods, this is often caused by a known issue where Claude (the underlying language model) can "hallucinate" dates when they are not explicitly provided.
Current solutions:
- Be very explicit with date ranges in your instructions
- Double-check that today's date is clearly specified in agent instructions
- Abundly is working on a platform-level fix to automatically provide dates to agents
When to escalate
If you've tried updating instructions 1-2 times and still experience issues:
- Contact Abundly support with specific examples of the problems
- Include details about what the agent should vs. shouldn't include
- Provide examples of incorrect outputs
- Support can help identify technical issues or provide advanced troubleshooting
Best practices for effective instructions
- Be very explicit about criteria (specific companies, date ranges, content types)
- Include examples of what should and shouldn't be included
- Specify the current date clearly in instructions
- Test changes iteratively rather than making many changes at once
- Document what works and what doesn't for future reference

IntegrationsHow do I configure the Slack capability?
How do I configure the Slack capability?
To let your agent communicate on your Slack server, you need to
Step 1: Create a Slack app
Here is a simple quick-start guide. For more comprehensive info, see api.slack.com/docs.
The easiest way to create a Slack app is to use a manifest file as a template. Copy the template below,
{
"display_information":{
"name":"YOUR_APP_NAME",
"description":"YOUR_APP_DESCRIPTION",
"background_color":"#000000"
},
"features":{
"app_home":{
"messages_tab_enabled":true,
"messages_tab_read_only_enabled":false
},
"bot_user":{
"display_name":"YOUR_BOT_DISPLAY_NAME",
"always_online":true
}
},
"oauth_config":{
"scopes":{
"bot":[
"app_mentions:read",
"channels:read",
"chat:write",
"groups:read",
"im:read",
"users:read",
"channels:history",
"groups:history",
"im:history",
"channels:join",
"im:write",
"mpim:history"
]
}
},
"settings":{
"event_subscriptions":{
"request_url":"https://agent-service-339911427090.europe-north2.run.app/api/slack/webhook",
"bot_events":[
"app_mention",
"message.im",
"message.mpim"
]
},
"org_deploy_enabled":false,
"socket_mode_enabled":false,
"token_rotation_enabled":false
}
}
- Visit api.slack.com/apps
- Click "Create New App"
- Choose "From a manifest"
- Paste the above manifest
- Replace
YOUR_APP_NAME,YOUR_APP_DESCRIPTION, andYOUR_BOT_DISPLAY_NAMEwith your own info. - OPTIONAL: adjust the
scopesandbot_eventsif you like.
- The scopes define what the agent can do in slack. Here is the full list of scopes.
- The bot_events define which types of events will cause the agent to be triggered. Without bot_events the agent can only send and not receive messages on Slack. Here the full list of events.
- Tip: With the configuration above, your agent will only be triggered if @-mentioned. If you want the agent to be triggered for all Slack messages in the channels that it is a member of, then add message.channels and message.groups to bot_events.
- Click "Next" and "Create". Your app is now installed!
- Copy the App ID.
- Go to "Oauth & Permission" and press the installation button under "OAuth Tokens". After doing so you should see "Bot User OAuth Token". Copy that value as well.
Step 2. Configure the Slack capability in Abundly
Go to Settings -> Capabilities, enable Slack, and paste in the bot token and app ID.
Step 3. Configure Event Subscriptions
Please note! Event subscriptions enables your agent to be triggered by events (eg new messages) on slack. If you prefer an agent that only posts to Slack, but that doesnβt listen to Slack, then this step is not necessary.
Your Slack app needs webhook configuration to notify your agent when new messages arrive:
- While in Slack app settings, click on "Event Subscriptions" in the left sidebar
- Set the "Request URL" to:
- For production agents:
https://agent-service-339911427090.europe-north2.run.app/api/slack/webhook
- For production agents:
- Ensure the "Enable Events" toggle is switched ON
- Under "Subscribe to bot events" section, click "Add Bot User Event"
- Add at least these events:
app_mention- To receive mentions in channelsmessage.im- To receive direct messages
4. Set Required OAuth Scopes
Your Slack app needs the right permissions to access channels and receive events:
- In Slack app settings, click "OAuth & Permissions" in the left sidebar
- Scroll to the "Scopes" section
- Under "Bot Token Scopes", add the following scopes if they're not already present:
channels:read- To see public channelsgroups:read- To see private channelschat:write- To send messagesapp_mentions:read- To receive mentions
- If you've added new scopes, you'll need to reinstall the app to your workspace using the "Install to Workspace" button at the top of the page
- After reinstalling, a new Bot Token will be generated. Update this in your agent platform.
5. Invite the Agent to Channels
Your agent must be invited to any channels where you want it to respond:
- In Slack, open each channel where you want the agent to work
- Type
/invite @AgentName(where AgentName is the name of your bot) - The agent can now receive and respond to messages in these channels
IntegrationsHow do I set up Google Drive integration with my agent?

- Click "Create connection" and continue in the popup window
Step 2: Google approval flow
- You'll be directed to Google's authorization page
- Sign in to your Google account if prompted
- Important: Accept this specific scope when prompted:
- "See, edit, create, and delete only the specific Google Drive files you use with this app"
- Click "Allow" to grant permissions
Step 3: Verify connection
After authorization, your Google Drive capability should show:
- Status: Connected
- Your connected token information
- Token owner details
Step 4: Start using Google Drive
Once connected, your agent can:
- Create documents: Ask your agent to create new Google Drive documents
- Access shared files: Add existing files using the document picker under "Docs"
- File management: Work with files you've explicitly shared with the agent
Important notes
- No service account needed: You should not need to use a service account for this integration

- Selective access: The agent only has access to files you explicitly share or that it creates
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues during setup:
- Clear browser cache: Try clearing your browser cache and cookies
- Different browser: Test the setup process in a different browser or incognito mode
- Check permissions: Ensure you're using a Google account with appropriate permissions
- Contact support: If you get stuck at any step, email support@abundly.ai with:
- Which step you're stuck on
- Screenshots of any error messages
- Description of what you expected vs. what happened
What the agent can do once connected
- Create new Google Drive documents
- Read and edit documents you've shared
- Generate reports and save them to Drive
- Access files through the document picker interface
IntegrationsIs Abundly integrated with the Microsoft ecosystem and does it use Microsoft's choice of LLMs?
Is Abundly integrated with the Microsoft ecosystem and does it use Microsoft's choice of LLMs?
No, Abundly is not integrated with the Microsoft ecosystem and does not use Microsoft's selection of language models. We make independent choices about which AI models to use based on performance for autonomous agent tasks.
IntegrationsMy Slack agent integration isn't working - it's not responding to messages or finding channels. How do I troubleshoot this?
My Slack agent integration isn't working - it's not responding to messages or finding channels. How do I troubleshoot this?
If your Slack integration isn't working properly after following the basic setup, here are the most common issues and solutions:
1. Add the App in Slack First
Start by ensuring your app is properly added in Slack:
- In Slack, look at the bottom of your left sidebar for the Apps section
- Click Add apps
- Search for and add your app
- This enables you to chat directly with your agent in Slack
2. Configure Event Subscriptions (Critical for Listening)
Event subscriptions are necessary when you want your agent to listen to Slack messages, not just send them. If your agent isn't responding to messages, this is likely the issue:
- In your Slack app settings, click Event Subscriptions in the left sidebar
- Set the Request URL to:
https://agent-service-339911427090.europe-north2.run.app/api/slack/webhook - Ensure the Enable Events toggle is switched ON
- Under Subscribe to bot events section, click Add Bot User Event
- Add at least these events:
app_mention- To receive mentions in channelsmessage.im- To receive direct messages
3. Understanding Response Behavior
With the basic configuration above, your agent will only respond to direct @mentions. If you want it to respond to general messages in channels, you need to add:
message.groups(for private channels)message.channels(for public channels)
4. Invite the Agent to Channels
Your agent must be invited to channels where you want it to work:
- In each channel, type
/invite @YourAgentName - The agent can then receive and respond to messages in those channels
5. Verify Required Scopes
Ensure your app has these OAuth scopes in OAuth & Permissions:
channels:read- To see public channelsgroups:read- To see private channelschat:write- To send messagesapp_mentions:read- To receive mentions
6. Reinstall if Needed
If you've added new scopes or made configuration changes:
- Use the Install to Workspace button in your app settings
- Update the Bot Token in your Abundly agent settings with the new token
Still Not Working?
If you've completed all these steps and your agent still isn't responding:
- Test by sending a direct message to your agent
- Try @mentioning your agent in a channel where it's been invited
- Contact support@abundly.ai with details about which specific steps aren't working

Pricing & Credits
Pricing plans, credit usage, and billing information
Pricing & CreditsDo I need a subscription to keep using my agents?
Do I need a subscription to keep using my agents?
Yes, as of June 2025, you need either an active subscription or sufficient credit balance to keep your agents running.
Subscription requirements
If you currently have a subscription:
- Your agents will continue running as long as you have credits
- You'll need to purchase additional credits when your balance runs low
- Your subscription gives you access to buy credits and keep agents active
If you don't have a subscription:
- You'll need to choose a subscription plan to continue using agents
- Without a subscription, agents will pause when credits are depleted
- You can select a plan that fits your usage needs and budget
Choosing the right plan
- Evaluate your usage: Consider how many agents you run and how frequently
- Review plan options: Check the available subscription tiers at app.abundly.ai/signup
- Start appropriately: You can always upgrade or downgrade as your needs change
What happens without a subscription
- Agents pause automatically when credits run out
- No data loss - all your work is preserved
- Easy reactivation - choose a plan and agents resume immediately
Need help choosing?
If you're unsure which subscription plan is right for you, or have questions about credit usage, contact our team at support@abundly.ai. We're happy to help you find the best fit for your needs.
Pricing & CreditsHow can I lower the costs of running my AI agent?
How can I lower the costs of running my AI agent?
There are several levers that affect how much it costs to run your AI agent. Here's what you can control:
1. Frequency of Use
How often your agent runs is a major factor. Triggering it every few minutes versus once an hour can lead to a substantial difference in monthly cost.
2. Size of the Context
Feeding the agent too much data β especially unnecessary context β quickly adds up. Trimming the context to only include what's essential is one of the most effective ways to cut costs without sacrificing quality.
3. Where You Store Data
This is an often-overlooked but powerful design choice. If you embed data directly into the agent's instructions, that data is included in every single run β even when it's not needed. By contrast, if you store supporting information in documents or tools that the agent can selectively retrieve, that data is only included when relevant. This can dramatically reduce the tokens used and save credit over time.
4. Complexity of Instructions
Recursive or multi-step instructions β where the agent performs several tasks or calls itself β can drive up usage significantly. Simplifying the agent's logic and reducing unnecessary loops can help manage costs effectively.
5. Language Model Selection
Currently, we use Claude 4 as our default model because we've found it provides the best balance of performance versus cost and is the easiest to get agents working reliably with. However, model choice can significantly impact costs.
Current Approach
We prioritize getting agents to work effectively first, then optimize costs later.
Future Options
We're exploring the possibility for users to choose different models based on their needs:
- Cheaper models for simpler tasks
- More expensive models for complex requirements
- Alternative models based on specific use cases
Cost Optimization Support
We're happy to help with cost optimization on a case-by-case basis, but haven't yet enabled universal model selection for all users.

This is an evolving area - let us know your thoughts and requirements around model selection and cost optimization.
Pricing & CreditsHow do I add credits while on trial?
How do I add credits while on trial?
While on trial with remaining credits, you cannot directly purchase additional credits. The system only allows credit purchases after starting a paid subscription.
How the process works
When your team drops below 500 credits:

(Examples from August 2025. Credit consumption varies over time depending on LLM model and supplier prices, and Abundly tier pricing is subject to change.)
Pricing & CreditsHow much does it cost to run AI agents?
How much does it cost to run AI agents?
Our agents run on the highest-performing language models available because that's what's required for them to function effectively. Cheaper models often fall short β they may struggle with long contexts and are more likely to ignore or override important instructions.
For simpler use cases, this can make models like Claude 3.5 Sonnet or similar appear more cost-efficient, but the trade-off in reliability, accuracy, and ability to follow complex instructions is significant.
Currently, your agent is powered by Claude 4.0 Sonnet. While there is a more expensive model β Claude 4.0 Opus β we've found that the performance difference does not justify the additional cost for most use cases. That's why we stick with Sonnet as our top-tier default.
Our Strategy
Start with the best model to ensure your agent performs reliably. Then, if the cost becomes too high for the frequency you'd like to run the agent, let us know which agent you're referring to and we'll be happy to downgrade it to a more cost-effective model.

Pricing & CreditsWhy can't I find the top-up credits button during my trial period, even after selecting a paid plan?
Why can't I find the top-up credits button during my trial period, even after selecting a paid plan?
This is expected behavior during an active trial period. Even if you've selected and activated a paid plan, the credit top-up functionality remains unavailable until your trial period officially ends.
Why this happens
- Trial credits take priority: As long as you have remaining trial credits, the system treats you as being in trial mode
- Top-up is disabled: The credit top-up button/functionality won't appear until your trial expires
- Plan activation is deferred: While your paid plan is selected and ready, full billing features activate when the trial ends
Timeline example
- During trial: You select a paid plan but still have trial credits β No top-up button
- Trial ends: Your trial expires (e.g., Sept 7) β Top-up functionality becomes available
- Full access: You can now purchase additional credits as needed
What you can do
If you need more credits before trial ends:
- Contact our support team at support@abundly.ai
- Explain your situation (team usage, workshop needs, etc.)
- Our technical team can manually resolve this for urgent cases
For planning purposes:
- Note your trial end date in your account dashboard
- Monitor your current credit usage to plan accordingly

Support & TroubleshootingWhat does the 'Overloaded' error mean when trying to create an agent?
What does the 'Overloaded' error mean when trying to create an agent?
The 'Overloaded' error occurs when Anthropic/Claude's servers are experiencing high traffic and are temporarily overloaded.
What this means
This error happens when:
- Anthropic/Claude's servers are at capacity
- There's high demand on the AI model infrastructure
- The servers are temporarily unable to process new requests
How to resolve it
Wait and retry:
- This is a temporary issue that usually resolves within 5-10 minutes
- Simply try creating your agent again after waiting a few minutes
- The error typically clears up on its own as server load decreases
If the problem persists:
- Wait 10-15 minutes and try again
- If you're still experiencing issues after 15+ minutes, contact our support team at support@abundly.ai
Why this happens
This error is on Anthropic's side (the AI model provider), not with Abundly's platform. It's similar to when a popular website gets too much traffic - the servers need a moment to catch up with demand.
Future improvements
We're working on making this error message clearer and more user-friendly to better explain what's happening and what to do next.

Support & TroubleshootingWhy does my verification code show 'Invalid or expired code' error during login?
Why does my verification code show 'Invalid or expired code' error during login?
If you're getting 'Invalid or expired code' when trying to log in, this is typically caused by using an outdated verification code.
How verification codes work
Each new code invalidates previous ones:
- When you request a new verification code, all previously sent codes immediately become invalid
- Only the most recently sent code will work
- This is a security feature to prevent unauthorized access
Common causes of this error
Multiple code requests:
- If you request several codes in a row, only the latest one is valid
- Earlier codes in your email will no longer work
Email delivery delays:
- Sometimes there can be a delay between when you request a code and when the email arrives
- You might receive and try to use an older code that has already been replaced
How to resolve it
Find the most recent code:
- Check your email for the most recently received verification code
- Look at the timestamps to identify which code was sent last
- Use only the most recent code
Request a fresh code:
- If you've left the login page, go back and request a new verification code
- Wait for the email to arrive
- Use the new code immediately
- Don't request additional codes while waiting
Verification code expiration
Verification codes typically expire 30 minutes after being sent, so make sure you're using a recent code even if it's the latest one you received.

Advanced Usage
Fine-tuning, optimization - Advanced techniques and best practices
Advanced UsageCan I choose which language model to use in Abundly's platform?
Can I choose which language model to use in Abundly's platform?
Currently, you cannot choose the language model in Abundly. We use Claude Sonnet 4.0 as it works best for our use cases. We continuously switch to whichever model performs best at any given time, ensuring optimal performance for autonomous agents.
Advanced UsageHas Abundly recently improved credit usage efficiency?
Has Abundly recently improved credit usage efficiency?
Yes! As of June 2025, the Abundly team has implemented significant improvements that reduce credit consumption by 25-50% across all agent interactions.
What changed
- Reduced credit consumption for all agent activities (chat, autonomous tasks, scheduled operations)
- The exact reduction varies based on how interactions take place, but most users see 25-50% savings
- This improvement affects all types of agent usage regardless of context
When it took effect
- The changes have been live on the platform for several days as of June 26, 2025
- You do not need to take any action to benefit from these improvements
- All existing agents automatically benefit from the reduced credit consumption
User action required
None - This improvement is automatic and applies to all agents immediately. No configuration changes or updates are needed.
Advanced UsageWhere are chat conversations stored?
Where are chat conversations stored?
Chat conversations with our AI agents are stored in our own MongoDB database, which is hosted on a server in Stockholm, Sweden. These conversations are temporary and fully under user control. You can delete a conversation at any time, and once deleted, it is permanently removed from our servers.
Advanced UsageWhere are uploaded documents stored?
Where are uploaded documents stored?
Uploaded documents remain in the user's control and are not moved to our servers unless explicitly handled that way. For example, if you share a Google Doc with an agent, the document remains on Google's servers and is accessed only through your permission. The data stays wherever the original platform (e.g., Google) stores it.
Advanced UsageWhere is your agent platform hosted?
Where is your agent platform hosted?
Static files are served by a CDN, meaning is is dependent on user location. Our database, service and functions are run in Sweden.

Can I benefit from Abundly's agent courses if I only have access to Microsoft Copilot?
Absolutely! You'll be very positively surprised. The concepts, strategies, and workflows you learn in our agent courses are valuable regardless of the specific AI platform you're using. While the implementation details may differ, the foundational knowledge about agent design, automation patterns, and AI integration principles applies broadly.
