Scrum day Europe 2025 - Scrum in the Age of AI

Here are the slides for my opening keynote "Scrum in the Age of AI", for Scrum Gathering 2025 in Utrecht.
Abstract
Scrum has been with us for more than 30 years. The Agile principles? Over 20. They have shaped the way we build products, the way we collaborate, and the way we think about change. But now we are entering a new era: the Age of AI. A strange new world where intelligence itself is available as a service.
So what does that mean for us? Are the Agile principles still valid, or do we need to rethink them? Do we still need Scrum Masters, cross-functional teams, sprints, and standups? What happens when AI agents become part of our Scrum teams? What happens when everyone can build software, not just programmers?
In this keynote, Henrik takes a step back and invites us to look at the big picture. Together, we’ll revisit the assumptions behind Agile, and explore how AI changes the principles, the practices, and the roles of Scrum.
This is not just about tools or technology. It’s about how we adapt, how we stay true to the spirit of agility, and how we prepare ourselves (and our teams) for the future of work.
